Sissel Aurland explores drawing as a physical trace of contact between body, material and place.

Her work was awarded the Jury´s Prize at Senjautstillinga 2025 and is finalist in the OSTEN Biennial of Contemporary Visual Arts 2026 in Skopje. She has participated in national juried exhibitions, including Nordnorsken (2020) and Østlandsutstillingen (2012).

​

Often taking sculptural form through folding and pressing, the works are installed in dialogue with architecture or environment. Rather than depicting nature, they operate as material residues of encounter, negotiating the relation between body and place.
