Sissel Aurland
My paintings, with acryl and oil on canvas, are abstractly.
I am interested in the low-voiced meetings between people that affects the soul.  I am conserned with the fact that we need so powerful means to bee seen in today`s society. There is a risk that we loose ourselves and that the delight of all the small moments are lost.

In my work I aim against expressing my experience from thees moments, and express the spirit of the thing - to see beyond the physical body and express its spirit or necessity that causes its subsistent. The words from the british poet William Blake (1757-1827), is of great inspiration for me:
"To see a world in a grain of sand and
a heaven in a wild flower,
hold infinity in the palm of your hand and
eternity in an hour"
I am born and raised in Harstad in north of Norway. I love the juicy dialect words from this part of the country and choose to titler my paintings with those words to add a poetic flavour and a new horizon to the work .
